The Skeena 16' and 18' Rapid Canoe is handcrafted and stunningly beautiful. They are
strong, durable and light weight. Each boat is assembled from strips of top graded Canadian
cedar (a very rare soft yet very strong timber) and then encapsulated in fiberglass with epoxy
resin. For years, professional canoe guides and outfitters have relied on plastic or fiberglass for
their fleets of boats. Each of them has its own merit. One is inexpensive, the other light. But none
of them has the beautiful look.

The 15' or 17' Miramichi Kayak is completely handcrafted and an eye catcher and at the same
time strong, durable and light weight. They are also assembled from strips of top graded
Canadian cedar (a very rare soft yet very strong timber) and then encapsulated in fiberglass with
epoxy resin.
The Kayak is a light, narrow boat very similar to canoe, however the deck (top) is completely
enclosed. The boat sits very low and close to the water. It has anywhere from one to four small
openings, called cockpits, in which the each person sits. Each kayaker uses a paddle that has a
paddle/blade at both ends. They have a waterproof plastic or nylon flap that is attached to the
cockpit to fit around each person(s) to keep water from entering the cockpit.
Kayaks are relatively light, each only weighing from around 30 to 70 pounds and measuring 13 to
18 feet long. The sleek shape and the light weight of them make it easier to maneuver.
Although, most are made completely of fiberglass and other man-made materials, our Miramichi
features a handcrafted, beautifully assembled craft from scratch.

caribou skins and sealskins to stretch over a wooden frame to help them maneuver. They were
original used for fishing and hunting. However, today they are used for recreation and sports.
