1. Construction
All model ships and boats are handcrafted from scratch by skillful and
experienced craftsmen. They are built according to scale of the original
ships through original plans or pictures using the plank on frame construction
method. The hull is joined by multi-pieces of dry thin wood glued together.
Inside the hull, a high quality epoxy is applied which helps the thin wooden
bars to bond close to one another so they will not split, crack or twist even in
variable climatic conditions. Again these models are completely build from
scratch and NOT from a kit. Each model ship or boat comes with a stand
for display.
2. How are the ships measured?
The measurement of each model is the full dimension in inches. All ships from the factory are
measured in centimeter.
3. Materials Used:
Each model is built using the highest quality woods like rose wood, ebony, black wood, mahogany,
teak… All the wood is naturally seasoned and kiln dry before use to make sure that the completed
products withstand any climate.
4. Timing of work:
We can finish your order for items in as early as two weeks depending on the quantity and kind of
item(s) your ordering. Please contact us to let us know what and how many you want. We will then
let you know how long it will take. If you want to wait for your order, you will have to prepay before
the building process begins. It takes several hundred of man-hours to build one model like the
Wasa, Sovereign of the Seas, H.M.S Victory, Friesland, Soleil Royal, San Felipe, Fairfax, etc... We
will do what we can to fulfill our 100% customer satisfaction.
5. Placing an order:
Orders are only excepted over the internet for lower 48 states. Please contact us if you live in
Alaska, Hawaii, or anywhere else in the world before placing your order.
6. Terms of payment:
We only except credit cards only unless we are contacted for an approved/agreed upon payment
method.
7. Delivery time:
Your order will be processed within 2 business days. Special and/or out of stock orders will be
placed on priority; however, only an estimated time can be given.
8. How are the ships packed?
Each ship is individual packed in a carton box. A wooden frame is used to protect the ship from
breakage when the box is accidentally tipped up side down, dropped or has heavy objects placed on
it. Model ships and yachts with simple details are packed with masts fold down.
9. How are the models shipped?
Small orders will be shipped via DHL ground or the most expedient way possible. Orders marked
appropriately at the "add to cart" button are annotated for customers to contact us first. These items
may require special shipping via Air, or Ground Freight and/or special services such as a truck with
a lowering gate.
10. Display cases:
Model Ships USA recommends as well as all experts, to put your models in a display case to maintain
their value and also keep it from dust.

"Dear Model Ships USA,
I received my USS Constitution today
and I just wanted to let you know that
this ship was beyond my expectation.
The model ship is better than your site's
pictures. Again thanks for a wonderful
product.
Sincerely,
Steve"
