The USS Constitution Model Tall Ship is
handcrafted by some of the world's finest
craftsmen. This beautiful boat was built
from 1794-1797 by Colonel George
Claghorn at Edmond Hartt’s shipyard in
Boston. Made from more than 1,500 trees,
with timbers felled from Marine to Georgia
and armed with cannons cast in Rhode
Island and copper fastening provided by
Paul Revere. Launched on October
21,1797, this tall ship was put to sea until
1798. She has won every battle ever fought
– over 40 of them! The Ship earned her
nick name “Old Ironsides” after a sailor saw
a cannonball bounce off her hull. Resting in
Boston Harbor, this "wonder of the world" is
the oldest commissioned warship in the

The headlines read "USS Constitution captures HMS Guerriere", 19 August 1812. The U.S.
Frigate ship left Boston, Massachusetts, on 2 August 1812, bound for a raiding cruise off Nova
Scotia, the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Newfoundland. Her Commanding Officer, Isaac Hull, was eager
to find and fight one of the several Royal Navy frigates then active off North America, and on 18
August an American privateer informed him that one might be found further south. The next
afternoon, some 400 miles southeast of the British base at Halifax, a sail was sighted that turned out
to be HMS Guerriere, one of the frigates that had fruitlessly pursued the USS Constitution off New
York a month earlier. Guerriere's Captain, James R. Dacres, was also spoiling for a fight. Despite
his ship's disadvantages in number and size of guns, and number of crewmen, the long British
tradition of victory in ship-to-ship combat against European enemies provided reasonable grounds
for Dacres' aggressive optimism. As the USS Constitution approached on this windy, cloudy day,
Guerriere began firing alternating broadsides that produced few hits and little damage. The ship's
return fire, limited to a few guns mounted forward, was also ineffective, but this changed markedly as
the two ships drew alongside at about six in the evening of 19 August 1812.
This museum-quality USS Constitution model tall ship has brought back historical memory of a
time gone by. The wooden tall model ship has been built to exact scale using the plank on frame
method. Original blueprints or thorough research are used when each model tall ship or boat is
built. Each model ship is built using exotic woods such as Rosewood, Mahogany, Teak and
other exotic tropical wood from around the world. Chrome and brass fittings and
ornaments constitute the excellence of each of our completed ships and boats. Please
